Moonee Beach House

Moonee Beach House is a large, family-style holiday rental a couple of minutes' walk from Moonee Beach on the Coffs Coast, with a securely fenced backyard that makes it one of the easier stays for a dog who needs room to run. Dogs at the Moonee Beach House

Dogs are welcome but only by prior arrangement: pets must be requested when you book and approved before arrival, so do not assume a booking covers a pet automatically. One dog is the usual limit, with some listings allowing up to two, and dogs of any size are generally accepted. An additional fee of around AU$10 per night applies. Cats are generally not allowed. Declare your pet during booking so the surcharge is applied correctly, and keep dogs off furniture and beds as standard house practice.

The house

It is a two-bedroom house with a large, securely fenced backyard and plenty of shade, so a dog can be left to roam the yard without a lead. There is a covered, north-east facing back deck, gated at the top of the stairs for extra containment, plus a full laundry with a washer and dryer. It is the kind of layout that works for families who want the dog settled in the yard while everyone eats.

Max: a fully fenced yard five minutes from the sand, and a gated deck so the dog stays put when the door is open. Book the pet approval early; it is not automatic.

Beach rules matter here

Note that Moonee Beach itself is strictly an on-leash beach under City of Coffs Harbour rules, despite what some booking blurbs suggest. For proper off-leash beach time, Hearnes Lake Beach just north is fully off-leash, and Emerald Beach allows dogs off leash north of Fiddamans Creek. To the south, Boambee Beach offers a 5.7km off-leash stretch, though watch for 4WDs and horses sharing the sand.
