Dogs of any size are permitted at Villa One, with an additional fee of AU$50 per pet per stay. Cats may be allowed on request. The pet kit is already in the apartment: a bowl, towel, crate and furniture covers, so you are not hauling your own crate across the state. The apartment has a secure courtyard for toilet breaks and quiet time outside. Confirm availability and the fee when you book, since Villa One is the only pet-friendly unit and it books out with dog owners first.

Worth knowing

The apartment is comfortable and fully self-contained, with the secure courtyard doing the work of a yard. Because furniture covers are supplied, the house rules clearly anticipate dogs indoors, but it is still worth confirming your dog is welcome inside at booking rather than assuming. Mildura summers run hot, so a stay with a courtyard and shaded indoor space is best timed for morning and evening walks.

Getting there and close by

The property sits on Fifteenth Street in Mildura, close to the Calder Highway side of town and a short drive from the Murray River frontage. For an off-lead run, the Rio Vista fenced dog park on Hugh King Drive has fully fenced sections for large and small dogs right on the riverfront, between the tennis club and Lock 11. In town, Bobby + Me is a popular dog-friendly breakfast stop.
