Hagley RV Farm Stay

Hagley RV Farm Stay is a low-cost, pet-friendly campground at 62 Meander Valley Road in Hagley, on a 65-acre cropping hobby farm in Tasmania's north. It is a self-contained RV and caravan stop rather than a cabin stay, a functional base between Launceston and the north-west with the Great Western Tiers on the horizon.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome as part of the pet-friendly camping setup, with a fenced off-leash exercise yard on site and a pet fee of around $10. Confirm the current fee and yard access when you book, since farm stays can adjust details season to season.

This is working farm ground, so dogs stay under control around livestock and on lead outside your rig until you know where the animals run. Pets are not permitted in the communal lounge or games room. Bring your own dog bowls and bedding; there is no dog wash or pet kit on site.

Worth knowing

Sites are large, level and grassy, powered and unpowered, with water on tap and free Starlink Wi-Fi, which is rarer than it should be at budget farm stays. The communal shed is the social heart: an open fireplace, lounge seating, big-screen TV, games and a book and DVD swap. Campfires run seasonally under Tasmania Fire Service rules, and the hosts have a friendly reputation.

Getting there and parking

The farm sits just off the Meander Valley Road, easy even towing a big rig. Westbury is about five minutes away for supplies, and Deloraine is roughly fifteen minutes further with riverside tracks along the Meander River for an on-lead walk.

Close by with the dogs
