Boat Haven Studios

Boat Haven Studios is a small collection of self-contained waterfront studios on the Murray River marina at 157 Liverpool Road, Goolwa, and dogs are welcome in exactly one of them. If you are bringing a dog, your stay happens in Studio 3, the River Shack.

Dogs at the studios

Pets are permitted only in Studio 3. Studios 1 and 2 sit directly over the water and are kept pet-free. Studio 3 is set slightly back from the water, sleeps up to four with a sofa bed, and is designed to be fully wheelchair accessible, which makes it a rare combination of pet-friendly and accessible on the south coast. A pet fee usually applies, reported at around $30 per night, but the amount is not published uniformly, so confirm it with the hosts when you book and flag the dog in advance so the right studio is locked in.

The place

The studios are styled and private, with decks over the water, kitchenettes and air-conditioning, and guests regularly single out the hosts and the peaceful setting. Kayaks are part of the deal, and the marina position gives calm water rather than surf. The Goolwa town centre is about a 10-minute walk, and Goolwa Beach and the river mouth are a short drive for proper beach walks.
