Hartslane Accommodations is a small collection of architecturally designed houses at 2 Harts Lane, Daylesford, in the middle of Victoria's spa country. The two-bookings-most-asked-about-by-dog-owners are Harts Lane Haus and Harts Lane Stag Haus, and both take dogs: the Stag Haus in particular is known for welcoming large breeds that most short-stay operators knock back.

Dogs at the Hartslane houses

Dogs are welcome overnight at both houses, which are self-contained two-bedroom, two-bathroom homes with full kitchens. Large dogs are accepted at Harts Lane Stag Haus, which makes it one of the easier bookings in the region if you travel with a bigger dog. Fees are not published flat across platforms: some booking channels list no pet surcharge while others note charges apply, so confirm the exact position for your dates before paying. Service animals are exempt from fees.

The one thing to get straight at booking is the yard. Neither house has a fully fenced outdoor area, and both look out over Doctors Gully, so outdoor time means supervision and a lead rather than open zoomies. If your dog needs containment to relax, ask the operators exactly which part of the property is secure before you commit.

Max: no fence means the lead stays on outside. Daylesford is all gullies and kangaroo paths, and an unfenced yard is not the place to test your recall.

The place

Guests rate the houses highly for design and kitchens: rustic cottage bones with contemporary interiors, and the well-equipped kitchen is a repeated highlight in reviews. These are whole houses rather than rooms, so they suit couples, families or small groups who want space to spread out with the dog rather than a single cottage room.

Getting there and close by

Harts Lane sits a few minutes' walk from Daylesford's town centre, so evening walks and coffee runs are on foot. Muffins and More is an easy dog-friendly breakfast stop in town, and The Farmers Arms is the long-standing pub for a garden table with the dog. For a proper leg-stretcher, the Three Lost Children Walk loops the lake and hills right from town.
