It is the calmer alternative to the busier campground on the lake's southern side, and the water is the whole reason you come: swimming, kayaking, fishing and water skiing off a bush setting.

Bookings are essential and made online in advance through Explore Parks WA, so lock in your site before you leave home, especially for weekends and school holidays when the lake fills up.
On site the facilities are deliberately basic: drop toilets, fire rings with seasonal fire restrictions, picnic tables and sand pads. There is no potable water, so carry enough for you and the dog, and generators are only allowed between 8am and 6pm.
Pepsi: the leashed paths on this side of the lake are flatter and quieter than the ski-zone side, a steady wander with plenty of sniff stops before a swim.
Worth knowing
The lake is used by boats and water skiers, so keep your dog clear of the ramp and launching areas and pick a calm stretch for a swim. Collie township is a short drive back for supplies and dog-friendly cafes, and fire restrictions change with the season, so check before you pack the firewood.
Getting there and parking
Turn off Cardiff Road onto the northern side of Lake Kepwari and follow the signs to the campground. Parking is at your site, unpowered, and the ground suits caravans, motorhomes and tents alike.
Close by with the dogs
Lake Kepwari camp grounds covers the other campgrounds around the lake if this side is booked out, and Stockton Lake east of Collie is the other leash-friendly bush camping option with striking blue water. In town, Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast takes dogs on request if you would rather a bed than a tent.
