Note that dogs are prohibited on Oaks Beach itself because it is a patrolled swimming beach; stick to on-leash walks along the esplanades and paths toward South Head Parklands and the Burnett Heads Lighthouse.

Before you book. Ask to reserve a fenced site if you want one, confirm the pet fee, and note the turtle nesting season (roughly November to March) means keeping dogs well clear of the dunes. Good for van travellers who want a fenced setup and a walkable coastline.
