Binningup Beach Caravan Park

Binningup Beach Caravan Park is a small, family-run park set behind the coast in WA's Harvey region, about ninety minutes south of Perth. The reason dog owners book it is simple: a gate at the back of the park opens straight onto a stretch of beach where dogs can exercise, so the morning walk is a matter of steps rather than a drive. It is a straightforward caravan park, not a resort, and the pet rules are written down and enforced.

Dogs are welcome on caravan and tent sites, kept on a leash at all times around the park. If you want a roof over your head, pet-friendly accommodation is limited to specific park homes rather than the general cabin range, so name the pet-friendly units when you book rather than assuming. A nightly pet fee applies and one pet is the maximum per site. Dogs cannot be left unattended anywhere in the park, and management asks for quiet, well-mannered dogs only.

Worth knowing

The usual no-go zones apply: dogs stay out of the ablution block, pool, jumping pillow, camp kitchen and BBQ areas, and pet bedding cannot go through the park laundry. Clean up after your dog straight away; the park points out that local council fines apply under the Dog Act. If the beach gate is not enough, a dog exercise park sits a few minutes' walk from the caravan park, handy at high tide.

Getting there and parking

The park is at 31 Portland Drive, just off the Forrest Highway at Binningup. Parking is on site with your site or cabin, so there is nothing to arrange beyond check-in, which runs from 2pm. Call ahead if you will arrive late.
