Beechworth Holiday Park

Beechworth Holiday Park is a shady, bush-setting park at 151 Stanley Road, set along the junction of Silver and Spring Creeks and about a two-minute drive from the centre of town. It takes dogs on all sites and in a handful of designated cabins, with a walking track running alongside the park for easy on-lead exercise.

The pet policy. Maximum of two dogs per site or cabin. Dogs are welcome on all powered and unpowered tent and van sites. Cabins are limited to eight designated pet-friendly units (two budget, five studio, one lakeview villa), which must be booked in advance. A per-pet cleaning surcharge applies to cabins on top of the standard rate; confirm the current amount when you book.

The rules. Dogs must be on a lead at all times in the park and cannot be left unattended. Owners clean up after their dogs. There is no on-site dog wash or treat shop, so bring your own bowls, bedding and treats.

The place. A clean, well-organised park among tall trees, with picturesque creekside sites and a relaxed camping feel. Best for nature lovers who want quiet and space close to the historic centre.

Location and nearby. A walking track passes directly beside the park. Lake Sambell and its scenic paths are a short walk or drive away, and the Gorge Scenic Drive walking trail through the historic precinct takes dogs on lead. Several cafes in town allow dogs in their outdoor areas.

Before you book. Reserve one of the eight pet cabins early if you want a roof rather than a site, and ask about the cabin surcharge. Good for campers and van travellers after a quiet, creekside base near town.
