Pizza Arlecchino

Pizza Arlecchino is an old-school Italian restaurant at 1/121-125 Corrimal Street in the Wollongong CBD, a long-standing local rather than a trendy newcomer. It trades dinner only, Thursday to Sunday from 5:30pm to 9:30pm, and is known for traditional thin-crust pizzas, pastas and garlic bread at honest prices.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor seating area, not inside the dining room. It is a casual, family-friendly spot, so a settled dog beside an al fresco table fits right in. Water bowls are not advertised, so bring your own, and note the outdoor tables are limited: call ahead on a busy Friday or Saturday night to avoid circling with a dog on a lead.

Worth knowing

The pizzas run classic Italian style, thin crust with generous topping, and the pasta list covers the usual Bolognese and carbonara territory. Reviews are mixed but lean positive on authenticity, value and friendly owner service, with occasional waits at peak times. It also accommodates BYO, which keeps a family dinner cheap.

Getting there and parking

The restaurant sits on Corrimal Street in the CBD, a short walk from Wollongong Central. Street parking nearby is paid and time-limited, so the shopping-centre car parks are the easy option for a dinner visit.

Close by with the dogs

The Crown Street strip and the foreshore paths toward the water make an easy on-lead after-dinner walk, and Coniston Dog Beach is a short drive south, with council-designated off-leash sand from the Bank Street entry toward Port Kembla Harbour. For a daytime option in the CBD, Lee and Me and C9 Chocolate and Gelato are both dog-friendly coffee stops.
