Chomped: Gluten-Free Takeout

Chomped is a 100 percent gluten-free takeout shop at 286 Lambert St in West Bathurst, part of the small Eat by Ever hospitality group that runs cafes and takeaway spots around the Central West. It built a local following for gluten-free burgers, rolls and coffee, and dogs were welcome in the outdoor seating while you waited on your order. The dog setup

When trading, Chomped allowed dogs in the outdoor area only, a small cluster of casual seating better suited to a short wait than a long sit-down. This was counter-service takeaway rather than a full table-service restaurant, so the usual pattern was an order-ahead pickup with the dog on the footpath beside you. The food

The kitchen ran a fully gluten-free menu across brunch, lunch and desserts, with vegetarian options alongside. Regulars singled out the chicken burger, the rolls, hot chips and the iced latte, and the value-for-money pricing came up often in reviews. 286 Lambert St sits in West Bathurst opposite the tennis courts near The Assumption School. Free street parking is available directly in front and on nearby side streets, so a quick pickup run with the dog in the car was always easy. The shopfront is a few minutes' drive from the Bathurst CBD.
