Seaview Warrnambool

Seaview sits at 1/80 Pertobe Road across from the Warrnambool foreshore, and the reason to bring the dog is the large elevated deck looking out over Lady Bay and the Southern Ocean. Dogs are welcome on that deck, which makes this one of the better water-view feeds in town for a dog owner.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome on the big elevated outdoor deck, not in the indoor dining rooms with their floor-to-ceiling windows. Staff are used to dogs at the deck tables and will usually bring a water bowl on request, though packing your own is the safe play. The deck catches the sea breeze and sits high above the path, so a small mat helps a dog settle while the plates land.

Worth knowing

The view is the headline, but the kitchen holds its own on local seafood: the seafood chowder and seafood linguini are the signatures, alongside steaks, beef burgers and a proper chicken parma, with cocktails and local beers behind the bar. Doors open from midday to 8pm every day of the week, so it works for lunch through to an early dinner. The ramp-accessible deck suits older dogs and owners with prams alike.

Getting there and parking

The venue is on Pertobe Road right by the foreshore, with a free on-site car park plus free street parking along Pertobe Road and the carparks around the Lake Pertobe edge. It is an easy stop if you are already walking the promenade with the dog.

Close by with the dogs

The foreshore promenade runs along the coast for an on-leash stretch before or after eating. Note the main beach between the Flume and the Breakwater is closed to dogs from 1 December to 31 March under council rules. For a proper off-leash run, Logans Beach near the Hopkins mouth allows dogs off-leash year-round under effective control, and Victoria Park Community Dog Park is the fenced inland option. Pepsi: A high deck with an ocean breeze and dropped chips is about as good as a coastal lunch gets. Bring a mat so your dog can stretch out.

Late afternoon into sunset is the prize on the deck and the busiest stretch, so book if your heart is set on it. A weekday lunch is quieter if you want room to settle the dog. Good for sociable dogs who like a breezy, open setting.
