Hopscotch Restaurant & Bar sits on the corner of Kable Avenue and Hill Street, right beside Bicentennial Park, and serves breakfast and lunch from 7am to 3pm every day of the week. Eggs benedict, hashbrowns and the breaky burger headline the morning menu, and the alfresco seating out front is where dogs are welcome. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor patio and alfresco seating that runs along the park side of the venue, kept on a lead next to the table. The indoor dining room is off limits to dogs. Because the alfresco edge faces Bicentennial Park, there is grass a few steps away for a pre-breakfast sniff, and the morning sun on the patio makes early sittings comfortable for most of the year.

Pepsi: Ordered the steak sandwich out on the patio and the dog stretched out under the table the whole time, no fuss at all.

Weekend mornings pull a crowd, so a weekday visit gives you the most table options with a dog. Milkshakes and the coffee are part of the draw as much as the food, and the park-side position means a stop here folds neatly into a longer walk along the park paths, with plenty of shade to retreat to once the day warms up.
