Rezz Hotel

The Rezz Hotel sits at 20 Hamilton Terrace in Newton, directly opposite Thorndon Park, and after a recent renovation it is a modern, open-plan local rather than an old corner pub. For dog owners the useful part is the outdoor courtyard, which pairs naturally with a lap of the park across the road.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating and courtyard, which overlooks the entrance and is regularly used by patrons with dogs. The indoor restaurant, bistro and gaming areas are off-limits to pets. Leads stay on and your dog stays under control; staff are generally welcoming and water bowls are often available, though a portable bowl is the safer bet on a busy afternoon.

The vibe

The menu is broad pub fare: pizza, schnitzels, salads, oysters and rump steak, served from 8am through to late most nights. There is a popular kids playground on site and the room carries a bit of noise when it is full, so it suits an easy-going family outing more than a quiet dinner. Weekend afternoons are the busiest stretch.

Free on-site parking is available at the hotel, with more free street parking on Hamilton Terrace and Stradbroke Road. The venue sits just off Gorge Road on the foothills side of Adelaide's north-east.

Close by with the dogs
