Chunn Thai Cuisine

Chunn Thai Cuisine is a neighbourhood Thai restaurant at Shop 21, 152-194 Allison Crescent in the HomeCo. Menai Marketplace precinct, open 11am to 9pm every day. The outdoor tables welcome dogs, and the shop sits a few doors down from Petstock, which makes an errand-plus-lunch run with the dog an easy combination.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables with no extra fee, leashed and settled beside your chair while the precinct traffic moves past. There is no permanent water station for pets, so bring your own bowl, and the marketplace's open-air walkways give you room to step away if your dog needs a break from the tables.

Pepsi: pair lunch with the Petstock run next door. Water and treats are one aisle away even if the restaurant does not put bowls out.

The vibe

The kitchen turns out generous, familiar Thai dishes: pad thai, pad see ew, panang and massaman curries, five spice duck, prawn betel leaves and crispy barramundi, with gluten-free and vegetarian options clearly covered. It is quick, casual service built around both dine-in and takeaway, so it works as a proper lunch stop or a feed on the way home.

Getting there and parking

Allison Crescent is the main access road into the Menai Marketplace precinct, with plenty of parking across the centre, including accessible spaces close to the shops. The precinct sits on the Menai Road ridge, easy in and out from the Illawong and Bangor side of the Shire.
