The Hangar At Maylands

The Hangar at Maylands is a relaxed eatery and bar on the Maylands Peninsula Golf Course at 15 Swan Bank Road, overlooking the greens near the Swan River. Its outdoor areas are openly dog-friendly, and the covered deck has the room big dogs need to lie down properly.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome on the outdoor alfresco deck and the surrounding footpath areas; indoor dining stays people-only. The outdoor space is covered and roomy, which makes it one of the more comfortable dog setups in Perth's inner east. Water bowls are often provided, but bring your own to be sure. One hard boundary from the golf course's own rules: dogs are not allowed on the fairways, so keep your walk to the paths and foreshore, not the course.

Worth knowing

The coffee window opens daily from 6:30am with barista coffee and house-made pastries, breakfast runs Thursday to Sunday from 7am, and the Mains and Shares menu starts at 11am with burgers, wings and steak sandwiches alongside WA craft beer and local wine. Wednesday trivia and Friday Chase the Ace give the week a rhythm, and both are quiet enough times to bring a dog that is still learning to settle.

Getting there and parking

There is extensive free on-site parking at the golf course, which makes arriving with a dog in the car straightforward, and accessible parking and entrances are available too. Maylands station is a short drive away if you would rather come by rail.

Close by with the dogs

The Maylands Peninsular Loop traces the river right beside the course, and Riverside Gardens on the Bayswater border has off-leash areas plus a spot where dogs can swim in the Swan River. Shearn Park is another local option, off-leash when the sports ground is not in use.
