Teddis Big Spoon

Teddis Big Spoon is a casual Korean eatery on Bussell Highway in the middle of Margaret River, doing a brisk trade in BBQ sets and well-priced lunch plates. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, which puts it on a short list of town restaurants where dinner does not mean leaving the dog at the accommodation.

The dog setup

Ask for an outdoor table, including the tables up the stairs, when you arrive or book. The main dining room is fitted out for Korean BBQ and is left to diners without dogs. Staff are accommodating, but bring your own water bowl for the outdoor area. The kitchen covers Korean BBQ sets with wagyu options, beef bulgogi, kimchi pancakes and crispy chicken wings, with vegetarian and vegan dishes in the mix. It is BYO, which keeps the bill reasonable. Trading runs from midday to 9pm Monday to Saturday, wrapping at 8:30pm on Sundays. If your dog dislikes crowds, aim for a midweek or early-evening table rather than the weekend rush.

Getting there and parking

The address is 113A Bussell Highway, right on the main strip, an easy walk from central accommodation. Street parking runs along the highway with public car parks just off the main road. The whole town centre is compact, so combining dinner here with a riverside walk works well.

Close by with the dogs

Rotary Park, just off the highway at the edge of the river, is the natural pre or post-dinner walk with shady trees and flat riverside tracks, though carry a lead for the busier sections. For a proper run, the Brookfield Dog Park is the town's dedicated option. If you are heading to the coast, the shire designates sections of the Prevelly beach near Surfers Point as dog exercise areas, and Combi Coffee covers the morning coffee run out that way. In town, Settlers Tavern is the other long-standing dog-friendly dining name.
