Swings & Roundabouts Margaret River

Swings & Roundabouts pours its estate wines in two spots at the northern end of the Margaret River region: the taphouse and restaurant on Bussell Highway in Margaret River town, and the original winery venue on Caves Road at Yallingup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating at both, and the Yallingup venue is regularly named among the most dog-friendly cellar doors in the region.

The dog setup

At the town taphouse, dogs on leads are welcome in the outdoor seating areas while you work through a tasting or a meal. At the Yallingup winery, dogs share a huge grassy lawn with the woodfired pizza crowd, and there is a dedicated dog drinking station with bowls for different sizes. Neither venue takes dogs inside the main dining buildings, but the outdoors is the main event anyway. Staff are used to dogs at tables; still, carry a bowl of your own for the town venue.

The vibe and the food

This is a relaxed, family-friendly operation rather than a hushed tasting room: swing chairs under the vines, an adventure playground at Yallingup, woodfired pizzas, grazing plates and a kid-friendly menu. The wines are made on site, with fresh aromatic whites and small-batch releases alongside the signature blends. The Yallingup venue runs 11am to 5pm daily with the kitchen to 4pm; the town taphouse opens from 3pm, serving to 9pm Sunday to Thursday and 10pm Friday and Saturday. Both are cashless, so bring a card.

Getting there and parking

The taphouse is at 85 Bussell Highway in the Margaret River town centre. The winery is at 2807 Caves Road, Yallingup, on the main road between Dunsborough and Margaret River, with a large car park directly in front and level access onto the lawns.

Close by with the dogs

Coastal walking paths around Yallingup suit a pre-lunch leg stretch, and the Wadandi Track is an easy on-lead rail-trail option between the two venues.
