Lex Thai Garden serves authentic Thai food on the main street of Lennox Head, in a relaxed garden-style setting. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor dining area, which suits the leafy theme of the place.

The dog setup. Dogs are permitted in the outdoor garden seating; the enclosed main dining room is people-only. Staff may offer water in the outdoor area, but bring your own bowl to be sure.

Good to know. The menu covers Thai classics, with duck spring rolls, curries and a daily happy hour from 4 to 5pm among the draws, plus solid vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. It opens Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner.

Getting there and parking. Central on Ballina Street. Street parking runs along Ballina Street and the side streets but gets busy at peak times and on weekends. A short walk from the beach and nearby accommodation.

Nearby with the dogs. Lennox Head Beach is within walking distance, and Pat Morton Lookout is a short drive for an on-leash walk with ocean views. Plenty of dog-friendly footpath cafes line the same street.
