Breeze Bar Airlie Beach

Breeze Bar is a cocktail and tapas bar on the main street of Airlie Beach, known for handcrafted drinks, share plates and regular live piano music. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, so it works well as a sundowner stop while you are walking the strip with your dog.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables on the footpath and garden frontage; inside is limited to assistance dogs. Staff are accommodating, but bring your own water bowl. The seating opens straight onto a busy pedestrian stretch, so this suits dogs who settle calmly with foot traffic and music around them rather than dogs who need space.

The vibe

The program is built around drinks and small plates: craft cocktails, espresso martinis, tap beers on tap, and tapas such as Coffin Bay oysters, garlic prawns and bruschetta. Happy hour runs from 3pm to 6pm daily, and a pianist features regularly in the evenings. It is more of a drinks-and-share-plates stop than a full dinner destination with a dog.

Getting there and parking

Breeze Bar is in the Ansett Centre at 293 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach's main drag. Street parking on Shute Harbour Road is limited and competitive in the evening; the Broadwater Avenue car park a short walk away is usually the easier option.

Close by with the dogs

The Airlie Beach foreshore sits directly across the road for a post-drinks wander, and the boardwalk continues along the water for an on-leash walk. Boathaven Beach allows dogs in designated areas during time windows, so check the on-site signage for current hours. For a full meal nearby, The Deck also takes dogs in its outdoor area, and Boho Cafe covers the morning shift.

Worth knowing
