An intimate laneway beer and wine bar off the top end of Main Street, dog-keen enough that the owner keeps meaty treats behind the bar for furry regulars. The draw is craft beer and a covered front courtyard that takes leashed dogs.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor front courtyard, which has some cover and umbrellas, reached straight off the pedestrian laneway. The owner is known to greet visiting dogs with a little treat, and staff are warm about it. Dogs stay in the courtyard rather than the snug indoor bar.

Known for. Fourteen rotating taps of fresh craft beer, a curated list of local wines, gins and whisky, and a hawker-style tapas menu to share. The vibe is small, friendly and knowledgeable.

Getting there and parking. Tucked in a laneway off 234 Main Street. Free street parking runs along Main Street and the surrounding side streets, central to the rest of the strip.

Nearby with the dogs. Main Street's dog-friendly cafes are on the doorstep, and the foreshore is a short walk for a leg-stretch. Royal Beach off-leash area is close by for a proper run.

When to go. The courtyard is small, so a quieter early-evening window gives your dog more room than a packed Friday night.
