The Savvy Squire

The Savvy Squire runs the full length of the waterfront block on Parkyn Parade, right where the Mooloolaba Marina traffic thins out toward the river. It is the Sunshine Coast flagship of the James Squire brewhouse family, and the kitchen leans hard into seafood: oysters, barramundi and a seafood platter that shows up again and again in visitor notes, alongside a solid rump steak. Doors open from 10am daily, with a later close on Friday and Saturday nights when the deck turns into one of the busier sunset spots on the strip.

Dogs are reported by visitors to be welcome across the outdoor waterfront deck and the beer garden, while the main indoor dining and bar halls stay people only. If you are bringing a dog, head straight for the outdoor tables, keep the lead on and expect staff to steer you toward deck seating during busy service. Water bowls are not advertised as a standard amenity, so a collapsible bowl is worth packing. The deck faces the water, which makes it an easy finish after a walk along the esplanade with the dog still on leash.
