Jersey's Cider House

Jersey's Cider House occupies a big barn-style shed on Paramount Boulevard in Cranbourne West, west of the Cranbourne built-up area, and it is built around its own cider. It trades Thursday to Sunday only, so plan around that: 9am to 8pm Thursday, late on Friday and Saturday, and 9am to 8pm Sunday.

The dog welcome is reported by the venue itself rather than listed as a formal policy document, so treat it as a strong signal rather than a rulebook: dogs in the outdoor areas, leashed and settled, with staff happy to bring out water. Because it is a working cider house with music events, check the gig calendar before bringing a sound sensitive dog, since live music nights change the atmosphere completely.

This is family owned and family run, and it shows in the setup: cider on tap in several styles, wood fired pizzas and lamb ribs from the kitchen, and a room that welcomes prams and kids alongside the beer drinkers. Weekend afternoons are the relaxed window, with live music building the evening crowd on Fridays and Saturdays. The outer suburban location means you will almost certainly drive, and the car park is right at the door.

Make a day of it

Cranbourne West is well set up for a dog day. The Trueman Reserve Dog Off Leash Area is in the same suburb and makes a natural warm-up before a cider session, and the Cranbourne Drive Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a short drive east. For a morning option, R Bros Cafe is up the road, and dog friendly pubs across VIC are listed statewide if you want to make a crawl of it.
