George Street Dog Park

George Street Dog Park at 2 George Street, West Tamworth, is a fully fenced off-leash area built specifically for dogs, with two roughly equal fenced sections you can rotate between. It is a straightforward, no-fuss local park and a reliable option when you want your dog off the lead without watching for traffic.

The dog setup

Off-leash is fine inside the fenced sections, but owners need reliable voice and sight control at all times. Keep dogs on-leash entering and exiting the gates, keep them at least 10 metres from any children's play equipment nearby, and clean up after your dog every time. The sections operate as general exercise areas rather than strict large-dog and small-dog splits, so monitor how the mix is going and swap sides if the energy is wrong for your dog.

Worth knowing

The park has full perimeter fencing across both sections, undercover seating for owners, wheelchair access and some basic agility equipment. Sunday mornings are the busiest stretch, while Tuesday afternoons are typically the quietest; most other windows stay relaxed, so it is a solid pick if you want space without the crowd.

Getting there and parking

The park sits in a residential pocket of West Tamworth, accessed via George Street near the Western Levy area. There is no dedicated car park, just free street parking on the surrounding streets.
