Springfield Central Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, free off-lead area near the Orion shopping precinct in Springfield Central, with a double-gated entry and a lively local crowd that drops in for a quick run between errands. It is a straightforward neighbourhood park rather than a destination outing.

The dog setup

Dogs stay leashed until they are inside the fence, then run off-lead under Ipswich City Council's standard rules: owners remain in the enclosure with their dog under effective control, waste gets picked up and binned, and any dog showing aggression is leashed and removed. Free poo bags are generally available on site.

What is on site and worth knowing

The enclosure has shaded areas and seating for owners, but no agility equipment or dedicated water feature, so bring water for your dog. Toilets and fountains are available across the way in the Orion precinct, which also makes this an easy stop to pair with the shops.

The park sits close to Orion Springfield Central, accessible via the Centenary Highway, with free parking nearby and Springfield Central train station within easy reach for anyone arriving without a car.
