St Phillack Reserve is a small off-leash dog area on St Phillack Crescent in Rawson, tucked into the residential streets just off Thomson Valley Road. It is quiet almost every day of the week, which makes it a good pick for a dog that gets overwhelmed at busier parks.

The rules. Dogs can run off-leash but need to be under effective voice control. There is a playground on site, so keep dogs clear of the play equipment, and pick up after your dog using the bins provided.

What's there. The reserve has unpaved walking tracks and open ground. Fencing is not consistently secure across the whole area, so check the boundary on arrival if your dog is a runner.

Getting there. It's on St Phillack Crescent, reached off Thompson Valley Road through Rawson Village. Street parking is available nearby. There is no useful public transport to this part of Rawson, so plan on driving.

Confirm the fence line before letting a dog off-leash here. It is not fully enclosed everywhere, and the reserve backs onto residential streets.

When to go. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are quietest. Weekend mornings and holiday periods bring a few more locals through, but this reserve rarely feels crowded. Good for shy dogs that want space without a lot of other dogs around.
