"Doggie Parking" is an informal Google Maps label for a Riverway Drive access and parking point near 1067 Riverway Drive, Rasmussen, sitting within the same Ross River precinct as the fenced off-leash area at Apex Dog Park. The spot serves as a practical entry and parking point for dog owners heading to the off-leash river-side park, though we cannot confirm whether it is a genuinely separate facility or simply the access point for the broader Apex Dog Park precinct. Either way, the same Townsville City Council off-leash rules apply.

The rules. Dogs must be leashed before entering and upon leaving the off-leash area. Keep your dog under effective voice control at all times, clean up after them using the provided bins, and fill in any holes your dog digs. Remove your dog immediately if it becomes aggressive or causes a nuisance.

What's there. Large shade trees, barbecue facilities, picnic tables, and walking access near Loam Island. The off-leash area is fenced on the park side and unfenced on the river side, with direct Ross River access for swimming. The space is noted as small and can be dry and dusty at times.

Watch for freshwater crocodiles in the Ross River. They are spotted regularly in this area, so keep your dog close to you near the water and assess conditions before letting them swim.

Weekdays are quieter than weekends, with early morning and late afternoon the busiest periods. Ross River water levels can shift with tidal activity, which affects swimming conditions. For the complete facility rundown and full rules writeup, see the Apex Dog Park guide. If you are after a post-walk coffee, Absolute Cravings at Tumbetin Lodge is about 10 minutes away and has a dog-friendly deck.
