Stuart Park Fenced Dog Park

Port Macquarie's main fenced off-leash dog park sits in the Stuart Park Regional Sporting Precinct at 2 Woods Street in West Port Macquarie. It is the one to head for when you want a secure, fully enclosed run rather than an unfenced reserve: double-gated, split into large and small dog areas, and a few minutes' drive from the town centre under Port Macquarie-Hastings Council management.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash only inside the designated fenced areas; in the surrounding parkland they stay on lead. Stay with your dog, keep it under effective control, use the provided bag dispensers and bins, and remove any dog showing aggression. On-site signage rules on the day, so check it when you arrive.

Pepsi: the separate small-dog enclosure is brilliant for a shy or little dog. It gets a real run without the big boofheads barrelling through.

The vibe

The enclosure has agility gear, including a tunnel, hurdles, a sit-and-stay platform and a log and rock scramble, plus a water bubbler with a dog-bowl attachment. Natural tree shade and bench seating make longer stays comfortable, and public toilets sit within the wider precinct.

Getting there and the ground underfoot

The precinct has ample free on-site parking, including accessible spaces, and the town centre is a three to four minute drive. The ground is a mix of grass and dirt or sand, so it turns dusty in dry spells and gets muddy after rain, worth knowing before a white-dog day.

While you're out there

Dog-friendly footpath cafes cluster in the town centre a few minutes away, with Sandbox over near Flynn's Beach an easy add-on for breakfast. If you are staying over, the NRMA Port Macquarie Breakwall Holiday Park accepts pets. For more fenced options further west, Blackbutt Reserve Fenced Dog Park at Wauchope is a solid fallback.
