Kesterton Park

Kesterton Park is a small harbourside park on High Street, North Sydney, where dogs can come off lead, as long as they keep clear of the playground. It is a short trip downhill from Crows Nest, and North Sydney Council manages it.

Leads and the off-lead area

Dogs may be off lead in the park but must stay at least 10 metres from the fully fenced children's playground. Keep the lead handy for that edge.

What you'll find

Paved walkways wind through landscaped grounds, with harbour views, creamy sandstone cliffs and the Neutral Bay ferry wharf close by.

There is a public bubbler, bins and dog bag provisions, plus toilets, a covered shelter and established shade trees. Street parking is along High Street.

Max: Ten metres from the playground fence is further than it looks. Call your dog in early when kids are around.

When to go

It suits a relaxed neighbourhood run rather than a long walk. Dogs with reliable recall get the most out of it, given the playground buffer.
