Glenorie Road Off Leash Dog Area

The Glenorie Road Off Leash Dog Area is a small fenced exercise yard on the edge of Millthorpe village in the NSW Central West, at the corner of Glenorie Road and Forest Reefs Road. It is a functional local reserve rather than a destination park, but it gives dogs a secure run barely a minute from the village centre, which earns it a stop on any Millthorpe trip.

The dog setup

The yard is fully fenced, so unclipping inside the gate is fine. Blayney Shire Council requires voice control at all times and you remain legally responsible for your dog's behaviour. There is seating, some shelter, bins and dog water on site, which is more than most village reserves offer. Bags belong in the bin; failing to pick up can attract a fine. Keep the lead on everywhere else around Millthorpe, where ordinary on-lead rules apply.

Worth knowing

This is a compact yard shared by local dogs, so check the gate latch before you let go and read the dogs already inside before adding yours to the mix. Small fenced spaces reward owners who watch play closely and step in early. If your dog is timid, a midweek daytime visit is the calmest option.

Getting there and parking

The area sits just outside the main village grid at the Glenorie Road and Forest Reefs Road intersection, an easy walk from Millthorpe's main street. Street parking is usually available along Glenorie Road.

When to go

Weekday mornings are quiet; Saturday and Sunday afternoons draw the local dogs. Good for a quick leg stretch between village stops rather than a long session, and in summer the sheltered seating helps but the yard itself heats up midday.
