Brandon Park Fenced Dog Park

Brandon Park Fenced Dog Park sits on Fairbairn Street in Marsden, a fully fenced off-leash enclosure with a double-gated entry, inside a larger community park that comes with a playground, picnic tables and barbecues. For Marsden and Crestmead dog owners it is the convenient local option: off lead exercise without leaving the neighbourhood, and enough other facilities that the whole family can come along.

The dog setup

The enclosure has a water tap with a dog bowl, a mix of shaded and open seating for owners, and basic agility equipment for dogs that want more than a flat run. One thing to know before you go: there is no separate small-dog and large-dog zone here, so if your dog is timid or easily overwhelmed by boisterous play, watch the gate when you arrive and be ready to time your entry.

Logan City Council rules still apply inside the fence. Your dog needs to be under effective voice control and supervised the whole time, you must carry a lead, and any dog showing aggressive or reactive behaviour should be leashed and removed straight away. Declared dangerous or menacing dogs are barred from off-leash areas. Bins and bags are sometimes stocked but not reliably, so bring your own bags as backup.

Getting there and parking

Main access is off Fairbairn Street, with an additional entry near Second Avenue, and street parking is available close by. If you are coming by public transport, local bus routes run along Chambers Flat Road and Second Avenue and it is a short walk in from there. The park is a few minutes from the Marsden shopping strip and about ten from Browns Plains.

When to go

The social windows are early mornings before 8am and late afternoons from about 4:30pm, when the regulars bring their dogs through. Weekday mid-morning and early afternoon are quieter if your dog prefers room to itself. After heavy rain the grass holds moisture and the low spots go soft, so a towel for muddy paws lives in the car of most locals.
