Fabian Reserve is a small dog off-leash area at the end of a quiet Keysborough cul-de-sac, just off the Dandenong Bypass. It is a low-key local spot with grassed areas to run, best thought of as a handy neighbourhood option rather than a destination park.

The rules. Dogs may be off-leash in the designated area but must stay within about 50 metres of you and under control by voice or hand signal. Keep dogs on-leash everywhere else, and note the council buffers: stay 20 metres clear of any playground or cycling path unless separated by a 1.2-metre fence. If club or school sport is being played in the reserve, dogs must be on-leash throughout. Bring waste bags and use the bin provided.

What's there. A water tap with a bowl, a waste bin, and some unshaded owner seating. Trees dotted around give patchy shade. Note the material on this reserve is thin, so treat the amenity list as a general guide and check on arrival.

Getting there. The address is 16 Fabian Court, Keysborough, reached via residential streets near the Dandenong Bypass and Chapel Road. Parking is on-street. The nearest bus stops are on Chandler Road, roughly a 10 to 15 minute walk.

Nearby with the dogs. Third Space Cafetorium on Chandler Road is listed as dog-friendly and only a few minutes away. For a bigger run, the fenced areas at Tatterson Park are close by.

When to go. As a local park it is quietest on Sunday afternoons and various weekday off-peaks. After heavy rain it is worth checking the ground condition before you commit to a session.
