Seddon Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Seddon Reserve is a Banyule City Council off-leash area on Seddon Street in Ivanhoe, a relaxed suburban oval good for a straightforward run and fetch session. It is only partially fenced, so it suits dogs with reliable recall more than escape artists.

The rules. Dogs can be off-leash within the reserve provided they are under effective voice control. Keep at least 5 metres clear of the playground in the middle of the reserve, and leash up if a council event or organised activity is on. Outside the off-leash zone, including the footpaths and nature strips around it, dogs must be on lead.

What's there. There's a tap on-site but bring your own bowl, shaded trees and seating, and waste bins, though it's worth carrying spare bags. There are no public toilets.

Getting there. The reserve is on Seddon Street, Ivanhoe. Parking is on residential streets nearby, and it's a short walk from bus routes on Heidelberg Road.

Nearby with the dogs. Bambino Coffee Bar and Lucci Eatery are both a short drive away in the Ivanhoe cafe strip if you want a coffee after the walk.

Quieter on weekday mornings and midday; expect more dogs around after 5pm on weekdays and on weekend mornings.
