Eastgrove Park Fenced Dog Park

Eastgrove Park Fenced Dog Park is one of Goulburn's fully fenced off-leash enclosures, sitting at 87 Park Road alongside the local sporting fields. Its edge over plenty of dog parks further north is simple: established gum trees that throw genuine shade across the grass, which makes it a sensible pick in the middle of a Southern Tablelands summer.

The dog setup

Inside the fence, dogs run off lead under standard off-leash conditions: you stay with your dog, keep it under effective voice or hand control, and remove it if play turns aggressive. The entry is double-gated, so latch both gates properly on the way in and out. Dogs should be microchipped and registered as NSW law requires, and dogs in season or showing aggression are not welcome. Waste bins and doggy bags are provided, and an on-site water tap handles hydration after a fetch session on the open grass.

Max: the gums make the afternoon shift workable even in February, and the sporting fields next door mean you know exactly where an escapee would run, which is why gate discipline matters here.

The vibe

The adjacent sports fields give the place an open, settled feel rather than the scrubby edge-of-town look some dog parks have. Expect the early morning crowd, the after-school shift from 4pm onwards, and the weekend mornings to be the busy windows. If your dog is timid or still learning the etiquette of a dog park, aim for 10am to 2pm on a weekday, when the enclosure is often yours alone.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Park Road in the Eastgrove pocket of Goulburn, easy to reach from the town centre or as a stop off the Hume Highway. Parking sits near the sporting fields. Local buses barely serve this residential side of town, so a car is the practical way in, which suits anyone breaking up a Sydney to Canberra or Sydney to Goulburn drive.

Close by with the dogs

The Victoria Park Fenced Dog Park is Goulburn's other enclosed option if this one is crowded, and the Jock Forsyth Dog Grounds adds a third choice. For coffee with the dog afterwards, Cafe 5911 at Bradfordville is close by on this side of town.
