Saddlers Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Saddlers Reserve is a small, fully fenced dog park tucked into a residential pocket of Evandale, reached via a path between numbers 12 and 14 Saddlers Court. It is a no-frills, secured space built for a quick off-leash run or a bit of socialising rather than a long walk, and the fencing makes it a solid option if you want your dog off-lead without worrying about the road.

The dog setup

The grassed enclosure is fully fenced under Northern Midlands Council's off-leash rules, with owners expected to stay with their dogs and keep them under effective control, which in Tasmania means in sight and responding to voice commands. Check the fence line if your dog is a known escape artist before letting them off.

There is a doggy bag dispenser and waste bin on site, but no agility equipment, water bowl or toilet block, so bring your own water on a warm day. A small children's playground sits next door, and dogs must not rush or intimidate people or other animals.

The vibe

Early morning and late afternoon bring out local dogs after work or school, so aim for mid-morning or early afternoon on a weekday if you want the fenced area to yourselves. This is a stop for a quick leg-stretch if you are passing through Evandale rather than a destination in its own right.

Max: walk the fence line first if your dog digs or squeezes. It is a single-gate entry, so keep the lead on until you are inside.

Getting there and parking

The reserve is at 12A Saddlers Court, Evandale, with parking limited to residential street parking on Saddlers Court itself; there is no dedicated car park. Evandale is reachable from Launceston by local bus, but driving in is the practical option.
