Woolloongabba Rotary Park Fenced Dog Park

Woolloongabba Rotary Park is a fully fenced off lead dog park on Fisher Street in East Brisbane, open around the clock, and it earns its keep with more room than the average inner city enclosure. Large open grass sits alongside mature shade trees in a spot that stays fairly peaceful for the inner south.

The dog setup

The run is perimeter fenced with a few basic agility obstacles inside, plus bench seating and shady corners for owners. Off lead applies within the fence; the surrounding parkland is on lead and under control. Keep a leash with you, close the gates properly on the way in and out, register your dog as Brisbane City Council requires, pick up immediately, and remove any dog that turns aggressive. Water taps can be hit and miss, so pack a travel bowl and your own water.

Some park lighting makes early morning and evening visits workable, and there are bins inside the enclosure. The open grass gets muddy after heavy rain, so a dry day keeps the paws clean for wherever you head next.

Street parking lines Fisher Street and the surrounding blocks, and it is an easy walk for Woolloongabba and East Brisbane locals. Buranda station is close by, with bus routes along Ipswich Road and Cornwall Street, so a car is optional.

Mid morning or mid afternoon on a weekday is the calm window; the golden hours before and after work, plus weekend mornings, bring the regulars.
