Noel Street Dog Park

Noel Street Dog Park, recorded by Ipswich City Council as Ted Atwell Park, is a fully fenced off-leash area at 1-3 Noel Street in Dinmore. It is a small, quiet, well-kept local park serving the residential streets of the Ipswich corridor, and its calm atmosphere is the main reason to choose it.

The dog setup

The space is fully fenced and generally uncrowded, which makes it a good fit for shy, senior or less social dogs that find bigger parks overwhelming. Council records drinking water and basic seating at the park, though shade is limited in the open setting, so mornings are the comfortable slot in summer.

Carry your own water and waste bags anyway; a small park like this does not have the bin and bag infrastructure of a flagship dog park.

Worth knowing

Ipswich City Council lists this as an official dedicated dog off-leash area. The standard rules apply: keep your dog under effective control, leash on until inside the fence and again on leaving, pick up waste, stay with and supervise your dog, and close gates behind you.

Max: always do a quick lap of the fence line before letting a dog off, even in a well-maintained council park. Check for gaps or loose wire near the gates first.

Getting there

Access is via Noel Street, close to the Ipswich Motorway corridor, with street parking at the gate. Dinmore train station is nearby for anyone arriving by rail. Because the park is small and local, there is little else on site: it is an in-and-out exercise stop rather than a destination with picnic facilities.

Close by with the dogs

A short drive opens up more options. Grab a coffee at Love Coffee Co in neighbouring Ebbw Vale, try a different fenced run at Conway Street Park Fenced Dog Park one suburb over in Riverview, or head to Zac's Carvery in Redbank for a pub meal. The larger Goodna Park Fenced Dog Park with separate large and small dog zones is a few minutes east.
