Farmers Daughter

Farmers Daughter is a quietly good brunch cafe on Bentham Street in the Yarralumla shops, the kind of spot locals duck into after a lap of Weston Park. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating out front, which is the whole reason it works as a stop on a dog walk.

The dog setup. Dogs settle at the tables in the front outdoor section on Bentham Street. Indoor seating is for people only, standard for ACT food premises. Water bowls are put out for dogs, and staff will sometimes bring a treat if they have one going.

Good to know. The coffee is the drawcard, backed up by a solid breakfast menu of eggs, corn fritters and sausage rolls. It is a quick, no-fuss stop rather than a destination in its own right.

Getting there. The cafe is at 39 Bentham St, Yarralumla. Street parking right out front is usually easy outside weekend brunch peaks.

Nearby with the dogs. Weston Park is a couple of minutes away by car with open lawns and a sandy lake edge. Yarralumla Dog Park on Weston Park Road is close by for off-leash time, and the Lake Burley Griffin walking path is a short walk from the door.

Go early on a weekend for a table out front before the Bentham Street strip fills up.
