Blended Cafe

Blended Cafe is a friendly brunch spot at 18 Forsyth Street in central Whyalla, with dogs welcome at the outdoor tables out front. If you want a solid coffee and a bacon and egg roll with the dog settled beside you before a foreshore walk, this is the easy pick.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the street-front outdoor seating, not inside, and they need to stay on lead with the footpath left clear for other diners. The tables catch some shade through the morning, and the staff are known for looking after visiting dogs: they will bring a water bowl over and have been happy to serve up a puppuccino for well-behaved regulars.

Worth knowing

The kitchen is best known for its coffee, egg and bacon rolls, croissants and fluffy pancakes, with quick service even when it is busy. Hours run roughly 7am to 1:30pm on weekdays and 8am to noon on Saturdays, and it is closed Sundays, so this is a morning outing rather than an afternoon one. If you are driving in from out of town, it is worth confirming the day's hours before you set off.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits in the main business district, with free street parking usually available on Forsyth Street and nearby. Use the front entrance to reach the outdoor tables with a dog. The Whyalla Foreshore and jetty are a short drive for a proper walk afterwards, and if you are staying over, Discovery Parks - Whyalla Foreshore has pet-friendly cabins right on the beachfront. Eyre Pantry at the Eyre Hotel is the other local dog-friendly breakfast option.
