Sweet Talk Coffee

Sweet Talk Coffee runs out of The Longs Quarter on Margaret Street in the Toowoomba CBD, and it has quickly become one of the city's most talked-about breakfast rooms thanks to an Asian-inspired, flavour-first menu and serious coffee. Dogs are part of the setup here: the outdoor courtyard takes leashed pets, and the staff are genuine dog people who will usually have a water bowl out before you have ordered.

The dog setup

The courtyard is the dog zone, with the indoor space reserved for humans. Seating is walk-in only, so arrive, mention the dog, and you will be steered to a courtyard table. It fills hard on weekends, which makes an early or weekday visit the smart play if you want your pick of spots. The laneway setting is compact but relaxed, and it suits dogs who are happy to settle at your feet for a long brunch.

The menu

The kitchen leans creative: the chilli scram on a sesame bagel, pad thai prawn omelette, house-made pumpkin flatbread, miso mushrooms and a breakfast carbonara all draw regular orders, with solid vegetarian and vegan coverage. The drinks list goes beyond the usual, with condensed milk coffee, sea salt cold foam and matcha variations alongside a strong core latte. Hours run 7am to 2:30pm on weekdays and 7am to 2pm on weekends.

Getting there and parking

The address is 3/203 Margaret Street in the middle of the CBD. Street parking runs along Margaret Street, with paid city car parks a short walk away as the fallback. The laneway entrance is easy to miss on a first visit, so keep an eye on the numbering.

While you're out there

Queens Park is about a kilometre away, and the Queens Park Dog Off Leash Area gives your dog a proper run to balance out the brunch. On the coffee front, Park House Café opposite the park and Urban Grounds Cafe are both dog-friendly CBD backups.
