Infuse Coffee Roasters is a specialty roastery and cafe on Strahan Street in South Burnie, roasting on-site for a casual, coffee-led crowd. The reason to bring the dog: a sunny street-side outdoor area and a relaxed welcome for well-behaved pets while you work through some of the best coffee on the north-west coast.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating only, a sunny spot accessible straight from the street, not inside the cafe. Keep your dog leashed and close to the table; the spot is popular and tables can fill, so a calm dog that settles is the right fit. Staff are friendly and used to dogs in the outdoor area.

Worth knowing

This is a working roastery, and the coffee is the draw: fresh single origins roasted on-site, award-winning house blends and alternative brew methods, plus a retail wall of brewing gear, grinders and accessories to take home. Food is limited to sweet treats like brownies and ginger creams rather than a full kitchen menu, so eat before or after. Hours run 7am to 2pm weekdays and 8am to noon Saturday, closed Sunday, which makes it a morning ritual spot.

Getting there and parking

The roastery sits in the commercial pocket of South Burnie at 46 Strahan Street, with free parking out front and a free lot, so pulling up with a dog in the car is easy.

Make a day of it

Pair it with a run at the South Burnie Dog Beach, the off-lead sand just east of the boat ramp a couple of minutes away, then come back for a flat white while the dog dries off. Fleur by Forbidden Sweets in Burnie is the sweet-tooth alternative if you are making a cafe morning of it.
