Louie’s Deli Rose Park

Louie's Deli is a neighbourhood deli and brunch spot at 52 Alexandra Avenue, Rose Park, a few minutes from the Adelaide CBD near Dulwich, and dogs are welcome in the front outdoor seating area. For the inner east it is a practical pick: leafy street-side tables, solid coffee and a deli menu that goes beyond the usual cafe fare.

Worth knowing

The menu is built around freshly made sandwiches and deli rolls, including the popular parmy focaccia, with salad bowls and brunch plates like breakfast brioche, and the kitchen also turns out family-size meals such as roast chicken and vegetable curry. It trades as much as a takeaway deli as a sit-down brunch spot. Hours run 8am to about 2:30pm, Monday to Saturday, with Sundays off. A mid-morning weekday visit is the easiest way to get a comfortable table with a dog.

Getting there and parking

Street parking is generally easy on Alexandra Avenue and the surrounding side streets, and the leafy residential blocks make for a pleasant short walk from wherever you park. The grassy open space along Alexandra Avenue is close for a stretch after brunch, and there are more dog-friendly options nearby: Slip 185 Coffee Bar in Dulwich and Eccomi in Norwood, with The Colonist covering the pub end of the day.
