Andonis Cafe & Bar, Ripley

Andonis Cafe and Bar sits in the Ripley Town Centre at 2 Binnies Road, serving Greek-leaning modern Australian breakfast and brunch from 6am to 2pm every day of the week. It is one of the few cafes in the western growth corridor that treats dogs as proper customers, with a dedicated doggy menu of its own.

The dog setup

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the designated outdoor seating areas, which are covered so you are not baking in the Queensland sun or scrambling when a shower rolls through. Water bowls are available, and the doggy menu runs to puppacinos, ice cream and treat plates, so your dog orders alongside you. Keep them settled at the table during the weekend rush, when the courtyard fills and there is a lot of foot traffic past the tables.

The vibe

Big portions, polished service and a menu that runs from eggs benedict and smashed avo to acai bowls and a serious Biscoff shake, on their Apollo blend coffee. It is a slick operation rather than a sleepy suburban cafe, and weekends are busy enough that a reservation is worth making if you are bringing the dog and want an outdoor table.

Getting there and parking

Ripley is the growth corridor south-west of Ipswich, and the town centre is easiest to reach by car via the Cunningham Highway or the Centenary Motorway extension. The centre's car park has ample free parking right by the cafe. Ripley is still mostly new streets, so check your map app is current.
