Beachside Bagels

Beachside Bagels works out of a shipping container on Saltfleet Street at Port Noarlunga, a couple of streets back from the jetty, and it has become one of the Fleurieu coast's most talked about small eats: bagels with generous fillings, a pastrami melt that regulars call out, fried chicken, and a proper matcha alongside the coffee. Reviews on TripAdvisor and local coverage in Glam Adelaide both describe dogs being welcome in the outdoor and lawn areas around the container.

The dog setup

The layout is what makes this an easy dog stop: outdoor seating and a lawn area where dogs on lead can sprawl while you eat, no squeezing past indoor tables required. Bring a water bowl, pick a patch of lawn with shade, and expect the usual beach suburb traffic of prams and other dogs passing by. Port Noarlunga's foreshore and the reef walk are minutes away on foot, so the standard play is a bagel on the lawn followed by a leash walk along the coast; the venue's small footprint means it is takeaway friendly too if the lawn is busy.

Worth knowing

Hours are breakfast and lunch only: 8:30am to 2pm Tuesday through Sunday, closed Mondays, so this is a morning-and-early-afternoon venue. The bagel supply on busy summer weekends can run down as the day goes on, and the queue at peak tells you the same thing; arriving earlier rather than later is the reliable way to get the pastrami melt. Saltfleet Street has parking nearby, and the walk from the jetty car parks is short.
