Piccolo Me Parramatta South

Piccolo Me Parramatta South is a campus cafe on the ground floor of 171 Victoria Road, inside the Western Sydney University Parramatta South precinct. It is a quick-order coffee and brunch spot where leashed dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, and it keeps weekday hours only: 7am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 3:30pm Friday, closed weekends.

The dog setup

Dogs sit with you in the open-air courtyard and outdoor tables; the indoor counter and kitchen zone stays people-only under standard NSW rules. Water bowls are usually around given the regular crowd of dog-walking students and staff, but pack your own bowl because the campus pace means they are not always out. The area around the tables is paved and open, which makes settling a dog easy.

The menu

The kitchen is faster and more substantial than the cafe's size suggests: signature gourmet burgers with seasoned fries, the Amazing Grace wrap, haloumi pides, loaded bagels, smashed avocado and loaded croissants at breakfast. Drinks go well past flat whites, with fresh juices, reboot smoothies and thickshakes. Service is built for speed, so it works for a coffee stop mid-walk rather than a long brunch.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is on Victoria Road a short walk from Parramatta's southern edge, reachable on foot from the CBD or the river paths, with paid parking around the Victoria Road strip. Weekday mornings bring a campus crowd; the mid-afternoon lull is the calmest time to bring a dog.

While you're out there

Parramatta Park is a short walk south for long on-lead walks through heritage parkland, and Good George is the park-side cafe pairing for it. For an off-lead stretch after your coffee, Dan Mahoney Reserve's fenced dog park in North Parramatta is the nearest secure run, and the People's Loop covers the river circuit.
