Milkd & Co

Milkd & Co is a compact, community-focused cafe at 32 Angove Street in the middle of North Perth's cafe strip, and the front footpath tables exist for exactly one scenario: coffee while your dog settles at your feet. Doors open at 6:30am, with trade wrapping up at 2pm Tuesday through Sunday; Monday is closed or limited to early-morning hours depending on the week, so check the cafe's Facebook before a Monday trip.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the footpath seating out front; the room inside is small and intimate, so the pavement is where you want to be with a dog. The tables sit close together along Angove Street, so keep your dog tucked in beside you and settled while the morning crowd moves past. Staff are friendly toward pets and will usually bring water on request.

Coffee and the kitchen

The coffee is the headline, with alternative milks handled without fuss and a generous matcha latte for the non-coffee crew. Food runs to a seasonal brunch menu with the eggs benedict as the standing favourite, plus scrambled eggs, sandwiches and baked goods, at prices locals keep calling fair value. The room has a rock-and-roll edge of band posters and local memorabilia, but the footpath is the better seat anyway.

Getting there and a run first

Parking directly on Angove Street is limited, so side streets are the better bet, and the strip is very walkable for locals. Charles Veryard Reserve on Bourke Street is a designated City of Vincent dog exercise area where dogs can run off lead outside organised sports bookings, and the fully fenced Jack Marks Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a few minutes away in Highgate. Angove Kitchen and Espresso Bar and Satchmo Cafe are other dog-friendly stops on the same strip.
