Divine Cafe and Bar

Divine Cafe and Bar is a Thai-Asian fusion cafe and restaurant in Jamison Plaza at Macquarie, doing all-day breakfast and burgers by day and a modern Thai menu by night. The spacious outdoor courtyard is where dogs belong here, and the venue welcomes them properly rather than just tolerating them at the edge of the car park.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard, which offers a genuine mix of sunny and shaded tables, so you can pick a spot that suits a thick coated dog on a warm day. Staff are used to dogs and put out water bowls. Keep yours leashed and settled near the table, because the courtyard gets busy and shares space with other diners.

The vibe

The menu runs two directions: cafe staples and burgers through the day, then proper Thai at dinner, with green curry, pork belly, sticky rice and fried ice cream the dishes regulars come back for. Hours split accordingly: closed Mondays, day service from 9:30am Tuesday to Friday and from 7:30am Saturday, with dinner service Wednesday through Saturday evenings and the kitchen wrapping at mid afternoon on Sundays.

Pepsi: the courtyard has a proper mix of sun and shade, so you can pick a spot that suits a warm-blooded golden or a shepherd who runs hot.

Getting there

The cafe is at Shop 101/2 Henshall Way, Macquarie, inside Jamison Plaza, which has ample free parking. Bus stops on Catchpole Street and Bowman Street are a short walk if you are coming in without the car.

While you're out there

Jamison Park and the Macquarie playing fields are a short walk from the plaza for a stretch before or after your meal. For bigger outings, Lake Ginninderra Dog Park and the Lake Ginninderra Loop Trail are minutes away in Belconnen, and Bliss and Espresso is the local coffee alternative in the same suburb.
