Bushranger Cafe sits on the grounds of the historic Highfields Pioneer Village, a rustic, open-air spot known for billy tea and damper, with dogs welcome across the outdoor areas.

The dog setup. Leashed dogs are welcome in the extensive outdoor and garden areas of the Pioneer Village, with plenty of open seating to settle beside you. Water bowls are often available, but carry your own bottle and bowl to be safe. It suits dogs comfortable in an open, rustic setting.

Good to know. The draw is the traditional bush fare, billy tea and fresh damper, plus ice creams, cold drinks and homemade treats. Opening tends to be Friday to Sunday, roughly 10am to 3pm, so confirm before you drive out.

Nearby with the dogs. Leashed dogs can wander the outdoor museum grounds, and The Chocolate Cottage is a short drive for a second dog-friendly stop with lawns and a view.
