Fraiche Deli

Fraiche Deli works as both cafe and gourmet providore from Shop 7/158 Graceville Avenue in Graceville, in Brisbane's west. It opens early: 6am on weekdays, 6:30am on weekends, closing at 2pm (1pm Sundays). The counter leans deli rather than diner, with rotating chef specials that go well past standard brunch fare.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the footpath tables along the front of the shop. It is street seating rather than a fenced courtyard, so keep the lead short and the dog beside your chair. Water bowls appear from time to time but are not guaranteed, so pack your own. Inside, order at the counter.

Worth knowing

The kitchen covers breakfast bruschetta, loaded bacon and egg pides, sourdough toasties, fresh salads, tarts and frittatas, with specials that have included goat's cheese souffle, tajines and smoked duck. The cake cabinet rotates through spiced apple cake, sour cream pie and custard kisses. Fresh produce on the shelves gives the deli half its pull. Arrive early: the counter thins out as the morning goes on.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along Graceville Avenue and the surrounding side streets, and the shop is an easy walk for locals. Graceville train station is nearby for anyone arriving by rail.

Close by with the dogs

Faulkner Park Fenced Dog Park on Waratah Avenue is the obvious pairing: two fully fenced enclosures for large and small dogs with double-gated entries, a short drive from the deli and next to the riverside paths along the Brisbane River. Closer coffee stops that take dogs include Ananas Espresso and Honour Espresso.
