CIBO Espresso

CIBO Espresso is an Italian-style espresso bar on Murray Street, Gawler's main street, and its footpath tables make it a straightforward coffee stop with a dog on the lead. It sits handy to the Barossa side of Adelaide's northern fringe, and the people-watching out front is half the point.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the al fresco footpath seating out the front; inside is coffee-and-go territory. The tables face Murray Street, so your dog gets street theatre while it settles. CIBO has been known to offer a puppuccino with a coffee order at staff discretion, and bowls of water often appear, but bring your own bowl to be safe.

Max: footpath tables on a main street are my favourite format. Pick a corner seat and I will do the bird-watching for both of us.

Worth knowing

The draw is the coffee, made with CIBO's own Arabica blend, alongside Italian pastries, paninis and gelato. It is a quick-stop format rather than a long sit-down brunch, which suits a break mid-walk. Hours run from 7am weekdays and 7:30am weekends through to mid-afternoon. Weekday mornings are the quiet window; the footpath tables fill on weekends.

Getting there and parking

It is on Murray Street in the Gawler town centre. On-street parking runs along Murray Street, and there is a public car park behind the main-street buildings reached from Julian Terrace, a short walk away. Gawler Central and Gawler stations are both walkable if you come by train.

Close by with the dogs

The central Gawler walking paths and riverside trail along the North Para are close for a stretch, and for a proper off-lead run Clonlea Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a short drive. Another local stop is Cafe Nova on the same strip.
